Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.

My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on Your promises.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

I will instruct You and teach You in the way You should go; I will counsel You with My loving eye on You.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea…

I want to know Christ–yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
